Jerd Jaras Rattanakosin: Experience early Thai arts and culture


Step back in time to the early Rattanakosin era at the "Jerd Jaras Rattanakosin" event, where visitors can experience the charm of Thai arts and culture that have been preserved to the present day. Highlights include performances of Khon, puppet theatre, traditional Thai music, classical and contemporary dramas, as well as workshops on royal Thai cuisine. The event is taking place at Seacon Bangkae until Sept 8.

Thailand's little market - Talat Noi

Names given to Thailand's new twin elephants

Meet Thailand's new four-legged twins, elephant calves born at the Royal Kraal Village in Ayutthaya.

The male calf has been royally named "Plai Sapalak Sophon," and the female "Phang Sakhonlak Sophit".

They were born on June 7 to mother Phang Chamchuri, 36, and father Pla Siam, 29.

Now over three months old, they were officially named last Friday, Oct 4, at an event celebrating His Majesty the King's sixth cycle birthday
on July 28 this year.

The announcement said they are Thailand's first registered twin elephants.
