Staff at the Pattaya People Media Group run by former Copenhagen gangster Niels Colov, now a reformed leader of the Pattaya Police Foreign Volunteers, are reported to have had their wages cut by 50 per cent amid rumours that the ‘media empire’ might come crashing down.
They are even more concerned that Colov, who set his eyes on opening a media company in the Philippines and was accompanied there two years ago by the infamous Drew Noyes, then boss of the Pattaya Times, has now legged it back there again - though he is expected to return.
The Pattaya People Media Group owns newspapers published in German, Thai and English, but not Danish - Colov’s mother tongue.
It also runs radio stations, Pattaya People Television where the news is read by someone sounding exactly like the late Cyril Fletcher of Odd Odes fame on Esther’s Rantzen’s former ‘That’s Life’ television show.
Staff say they have been told they will get the other 50 per cent next month. Perhaps they do not like being treated as if they were working on a Thai fishing boat.

Det gider folk sgu da ikke at betale penge for. Iøvrigt er mange af siderne på thai, og jeg har svært ved at forestille mig,

With his media empire collapsing about him Niels Colov, the former Copenhagen pimp, who rose to the giddy heights of a newspaper tycoon in Pattaya and chief of the local police foreign volunteers, is making one last desperate bid for survival.
With the Pattaya People Media Group unable to pay its printing bill for its newspaper and broadcast fees for its TV programmes on Sophon Cable and now running debts totaling over 13 million-baht (US$412,620.00) Colov is now hoping to save himself by launching a new property scam on the island of Koh Kut (aka Koh Kood).
It's a race against time.
Colov, recently married a massage lady and his venture into the massage business with ‘Darling Massage’ in Pattaya resulted in a police raid Bt500,000 in fines and a closure order, which may indicate his relationship with local police.
He also went into the construction business, borrowing cash from the Siam Commercial Bank, on the property occupied by the Pattaya People Media Group, to set up a construction company which went bust.
