Sommai Khamsingnok, main subject of the documentary “Heartbound - A Different Kind of Love Story”, shares her views on what is driving Isaan women to marry foreigners and move abroad. Some 25 years ago, she helped forming an unlikely network linking Isaan with the region of Thy in Northern Denmark. Becoming a matchmaker for the women of her rural village, she kicked off a migration trend that tied together over 900 Thai-Danish couples

Bicultural children in Isaan often face bullying in school for looking different than their peers. Thichanon Chumwaengwapi, a teacher at a local school in Udon Thani's Phen district, is developing a curriculum to teach respect for cultural diversity.
