More than 300 sea lions have taken over the beaches of Tome, a town in the Bio Bio region of Chile.According to local authorities, sea lions' descent on the coast could be caused by the presence of killer whales or orcas, one of the sea lion's natural predators.
Gale force winds lashing the Bio Bio region could be another factor.Authorities have asked people to not feed or approach the mammals.Sea lions in Chile are protected by a 10-year ban on removing these animals from their natural habitat.
