Inside Bangkok’s abandoned ‘ghost tower’ the Sathorn Unique

What a view from the rooftop.

THERE were once high hopes for the Sathorn Unique building, which was destined to become one of the glitziest addresses in Bangkok.
During Thailand’s economic boom in the 1990s, it became a towering addition to the city’s skyline. But in 1997, the Asian financial crisis left no money to complete to building.

Today, the eerie, unfinished 49-storey “ghost tower” is a very different kind of attraction.
While entering the building is forbidden, some have managed to venture inside.
Even just viewing it from afar is a creepy experience.

The grey tower stands empty and desolate, with incomplete upper levels.
Locals are convinced the building is haunted, and just from looking at the pictures below you can understand why.

Exploring the BANGKOK GHOST TOWER - Sathorn Unique - setting of the 5th December Suicide

The Satorn Unique Tower is a 50 stories high skyscraper located in Bangkok. The construction of the building stopped at 80% in the 1997 because of the asian financial crisys that hit Thailand. This skyscraper has been abandoned, since then the nature found its way through the concrete and the thai people believe it to be haunted by ghosts and called it the GHOST TOWER..
.
On December 5th 2014 a photographer exploring the building found a dead body of a 30 years old tourist hanging in a bathroom at the 49th floor of this building. Suicide is the most obvious option but I strongly suggest not to follow my example and avoid to get close to this place
